Understanding the benefits of Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy has been used for centuries to ease body tension, alleviate pain, and improve muscle recovery, flexibility and circulation.
Touch is a basic human need. Massage is “structured touch” or touching with a purpose.
Touch is an essential form of healing, comfort and nourishment for body structures.
These structures, including muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia respond to touch.
Massage aids in relaxing muscles, relieving body tension and improving circulation.
Massage can also lessen pain, improve movement and muscle tone by increasing the blood supply and nutrition to specific body parts.
Regular massage can be especially helpful for individuals who are involved in regular exercise.
It can speed muscle recovery time, help loosen up stiff muscles and joints and aid in the development of healthy muscle tissue.
Massage improves circulation and helps eliminate waste and toxic debris that may build up in the body.
Massage also helps you feel refreshed and can enhance your ability to concentrate at work.

Your comfort is of the utmost importence during the massage session.

The massage session is held in a quiet, private room with tranquil music, and soothing aroma. The padded massage table includes an adjustable face cradle and a bolster is offered to support your ankles or knees. You may be draped at all times, and only the body part being massaged will be exposed. You are free to leave on items of clothing you may need to feel comfortable.

The massage session is your time to relax and enjoy. Challenge yourself to release tension and relax body parts by letting the therapist lift your head, arms and legs.

Soreness may be common with muscle tension. You may experience some discomfort during the massage session. Please feel free to communicate your need for less or additional pressure to the therapist.

Communication is important for your comfort level and to maximize the benefit of your massage session.

Pleases feel free to call if you have any questions concerning your Massage Experience.
